HOW YOU CAN HELP
Our computer drive is in high gear! We are now in Haiti with as much good working computer equipment as we could gather to establish our first permanent computer lab, but we are still short of enough equipment. The computers will be accessible to students who will become our teachers, leading our program and helping us to develop content for our classes (Pictured above is our first "computer lab"... our front patio with our own computers, which we used for our first sessions).
Equipment we can use:
- Laptop computers
- Desktop computers
- Printers
- External computer mice
- USB flash drives
- Computer speakers
- Monitors
We will happily accept computers with minor defects (such as the sound card or wireless card not working) that can still perform basic functions (word processing, etc.). We don't have the ability at this time to repair computers with larger issues (broken screens). If you have an item and would like to check before donating it, please write to us.
To help us raise money, you can also order a custom cutting board here.
If you don't have any equipment but would like to make a donation, we are fundraising to cover some of our operating costs:
- $40/month for wireless internet for the lab
- Each of our student leaders receive substantial stipends for their work in keeping the lab up and running.
- Transportation costs - some students traveling from nearby towns receive money for transport so that they can come to the lab
